Privacy Policy

Effective July 31, 2026.

This is the privacy policy for markrussell.io, run by Mark Russell in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It explains what information I collect when you use this site, how I use it, and the choices you have. Plain English, no surprises.

What I collect

Information you give me. When you use the contact form, I collect your name and email address, plus anything else you choose to add: your phone number, your website, and your message. I only ask for what I need to reply to you.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, my web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to keep the site secure and running. I also use a privacy-friendly analytics tool, Independent Analytics, to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are visited, where visitors arrive from, and rough visitor counts. It runs entirely on my own hosting, stores its data in this site’s own database, and shares nothing with third parties like Google. It does not use tracking cookies and does not follow you across other websites. WordPress may set a small number of functional cookies that the site needs to work.

How I use it

I use what you send to respond to your inquiry, to provide or discuss the services you ask about, and to keep a record of our correspondence. I use server logs to operate and secure the site. I do not use your information for advertising, and I never sell it.

Where it goes

Contact form submissions are stored in this site’s database and emailed to me through my email host so I can reply. The site and email run on my hosting provider. These providers process the information only on my behalf, to operate the site and deliver my email. I share your information with no one else, except where I am required to by law.

How long I keep it

I keep your inquiry as long as I need it to respond and to maintain reasonable business records. If you would like me to delete it sooner, just ask.

Your choices

You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Use the contact form and I will take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act; I honor those requests wherever you are.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect what you send. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive personal information, such as financial account or government ID numbers, through the contact form.

Children

This site is meant for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If I change how I handle information, I will update this page and change the effective date above.
